This Photo was clicked in Year 1942 when His Highness Shri Chitira Thirunal Balrama Marthanda Verma Maharaja of Travancore Visited Sabarimala. The Photo was clicked by his brother Shri Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Verma who accompanied him.

Is it not Beautiful … Alas! we have lost it due to Modernization and due to facility requirements for the ever growing population of devotees coming every year to sabarimala. This Photo is taken from where today exists the Devasom Board’s Accommodation Office and Pilgrim Center 3,4 &5. You can see in this photo the Tree which still stands in its full dignity near the Homakundam. One can also see Temple of Karupa Swami which is near the Holy Eighteen Steps (Padinetaam Padi).
